Birth notice!
Users of Picozine.com allready know that making a picozine is so easy even kids can do it. That's why we are happy to announce the birth of our first born son: Picozone.nl, specially made for dutch speaking kids.

Tapes for PicoZine
In january this year the exhibition and installation Käämer 12 took place in rue Crikx in Brussels. The show in les ateliers claus is about Found Tapes, a growing collection of cast away soundtapes. With the installation, made by dutch artist Harold Schellinx, he showed the latest additions of his found tapes he collected over the years.

To promote his work he made himself a PicoZine and used this to show the work he made with his project over the years. Well done Harold!

We also would like to thank harsmedia.com for their use of PicoZine and donation. Thanks Hars! In return we would like you to consider becoming an angel and support the online exhibition in return. Its what we did as well!

Big Step For A Small Magazine

Since of today anyone who is a member of picozine.com
can now add text and color into their pico's!

We upgraded the free to use application with a new Big Thing: adding text to your Pico. With this new feature we hope to answer to a wish our growing group of already existing members waited for. We also think that the possibility of adding text to a PicoZine brings more diversity and even better PicoZines.

Anne de Vilder did some Picozine workshops
Anne de Vilder did some Picozine workshops in Hilversum, The Netherlands. That's why her words are in dutch:

Wait, I'll transgoogle it for you:

Students from Havo 3 and VWO 3 ATC Hilversum end of 2008, I informed them about Pico Zine. Pico Zine was a component within a self-designed series of lessons (10 hours) 'portrait'. The students were very enthusiastic. As a supervisor, I discovered that it is important that you first give a proper instruction on the website to everyone and then get an order that can not be specific otherwise you get a much larger group of the same. I think it is useful that participants have the time (at least 2 hours of lessons) in the teaching experiment and explore what you can with Pico Zine.

Some results here.

We made 120 cups of coffee. (People were asked to pay 'a coin of choise'. Most of them didn't.)

Yes we need money now and yes we are crazy. We hope you are crazy too. Here's the donate button.

People get public!
In the backend of the site we've noticed that there is more going on then can be seen on the public part of the site. People do make beautiful Pico's but do not always make them public. Maybe they choose not to publish them and use their Pico's only for themselfs and their friends, maybe they just forget or don't know how to publish.
It's simple!

Just check the 'public' button on the bottum of the Pico Maker Page and your pico will show up in the latest Picos page:

I've changed a bit of code for the inline Pico. It's now centered in the page by default. If you want the Pico to appear right beneath the button, use the c=off parameter. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.picozine.com/pi.php?z=156&img=50&c=off&title=off"></script>

One of these days i'll make a howto page...

Pico Inline UPDATE
Specially for Timo and Tom; with &c=on in the code the pico overlay will be centered in the page!

Pico inline for your (blog) site.
Next thing from our lab: Pico inline for your own blog. Just copy one line of code in your html and have your Pico served there! Please try these examples.

This one is the simplest. The z is the number of your Pico. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.picozine.com/pi.php?z=95"> </script>

You can also choose to have the frontpage of your Pico instead of the small pico logo.  img=12 makes the picture 12 pixels wide. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.picozine.com/pi.php?z=109&img=12"> </script>

So you can make the picture bigger, with 50 pixels max. Next to that the title can be removed: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.picozine.com/pi.php?z=77&img=50&title=off"> </script>
